     Install Notes

    1. Insert the terminal schema

Please reference the documentation for your particular product (Uniprint 7.2, Uniprint 8.0, Blueprint 3.5 Release 2 or Blueprint 4.1) for the proper steps to be used when applying the schema for the Canon iMFP solution. The schema files can be found in the database folder.

It is always a good idea to back up the Pharos Database before applying changes.

    2. SSL required when integrating with Pharos Blueprint

When using the Canon iMFP solution with Pharos Blueprint Enterprise, the solution must be configured to use SSL as Pharos Blueprint Enterprise 3.5 Release 2 and newer require the use of SSL.

On the configuration page, the Encryption Option must be set to "Encrypted using Secure Sockets (SSL)."

    3. Supported Login Devices

The following login devices are supported in this release:

        Magnetic Swipe Card Readers
      • Magtek Sure Swipe Reader product# 21040146

        Prox Card Readers
      • RFIdeas reader product# 15610

     What's New in This Release

    1. Support for the Following Models

With newly implemented basic support NiR devices (Image Runner Advance), the following devices are now supported:

      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5045
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5035
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5030
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7065
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C7055
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9075 PRO
      • imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9065 PRO1

    2. Bug fixes

This solution release includes fixes for the following issues:

      • When executing an interactive copy job, the start and done buttons sometimes don't get re-enabled.
      • Canon Schema version is not up to date
      • Canon does not throw an error message when using SSL on the iMFP when Pharos server does not use SSL
      • First Card Swipe after Change Control or Reboot raises Track Error
      • Client pointing at UP 8.1 configured with invalid terminal name causes incorrect message to be displayed to user.
      • Costing methods can be incorrect
      • Session ID can be invalid at times.

    3. Less aggressive USB device ownership

Changed the software to aquire the first supported device it finds on the bus. This should not interfere with any other MEAP application unless that MEAP app also uses the same USB device for input.

    4. Remove ****************TOGGLING FILES *************** from the logs.

When the log file switches files it emits ****************TOGGLING FILES *************** into the log file hundreds of times. Commented out the line of code that was emitting the string.

     Known Issues

    1. Default Email Address Not Supported on iR C2880

Due to firmware issues, the default population of the email field feature is not supported on the iR C2880.

    2. Sample prints do not work on older engines

During engine family testing it was found that the demo package sample files did not print on the following engines:

      • iR2270
      • iR2870
      • iR3570
      • iR4570

These are from the older engine families. Because the files are only needed for showing the demo print release application and not used by customers this was an acceptable issue. These are the oldest engines that we support and most trade show or showroom use of the demo will be with the newer devices. The demo still operates but the files do not print when selected.
